Customer Wallet
The Wallet keeps a balance for each of your customers, one per currency. Use it for prepaid credit, deposits, loyalty credit or simply to record what a customer has paid. Payments made through MonoChat payment links are added to the wallet automatically, and refunds are taken off again.
Where to find it
- Chat screen: the Wallet widget on the right of a session, with the buttons Balances, Transactions and Create Payment Order.
- CRM: open a customer and go to the Wallet tab. It has two tabs: Balances and Transactions.
Balances
Balances shows one row per currency with the customer's current amount, for example 150.00 TRY and 20.00 USD.
Transactions
Transactions lists every movement with its description, date and amount.
Adding a transaction manually
-
In Transactions, click + (Create).
-
Fill in the form:
Field What to enter Description Why the balance changes, for example "Welcome credit". Required. Type Credit adds to the balance, Debit takes from it. Price The amount and its currency. The currencies come from your workspace's currencies. -
Click Save.
Taking a payment into the wallet
From a chat you can send the customer a payment link that tops up their wallet.
- In the Wallet widget, click Create Payment Order.
- Choose the Payment System and enter the Price.
- Under Details, enter the customer's First Name, Last Name, Email Address, Address, Country, City and Post Code as the payment provider needs them.
- Click Save. MonoChat asks Are you sure you want to send the item?; confirm to send the payment link into the conversation.
When the customer pays, the amount is added to their wallet balance in that currency and the New Payment Received flow event fires, so a flow can thank the customer or continue the order. Payment systems are set up under Payment Systems.
Refunds
A transaction that came from a payment shows a Refund button when the payment system supports refunds and the payment has not been fully refunded yet.
- Click Refund on the transaction.
- The Refund Payment box shows the total amount paid, the amount already refunded and the refundable amount.
- Enter the Amount to refund (the full refundable amount is filled in; you can lower it for a partial refund), click Save and confirm Are you sure you want to create a refund request?.
The refunded amount is taken off the customer's wallet balance.
