The Mobile App on Tablets and iPad

The MonoChat app for Android and iOS adapts to large screens. When the screen is wide enough, for example on an iPad or an Android tablet held in landscape, the app uses the same layout as MonoChat on the web. On a phone it keeps its phone layout and stays in portrait.

Side menu

A menu on the left side of the screen replaces the bottom bar. The dashboard, Sessions and your custom views are at the top, and Reports and Settings sit at the bottom. Up to four custom views get an icon each; when there are more, they share one icon that opens them from a list.

Sessions and chat

The session list stays on the left and the chat you open fills the rest of the screen, so you can move from one conversation to the next without going back. The open session is highlighted in the list. Until you open one, the right side shows Session Not Selected.

The customer's profile opens in the same place as the chat.

Settings, Reports and your profile

Settings, Reports and your profile show their menu next to the open page, as on the web:

SettingsTenant
ReportsThe first report in the list
Your profileEdit My Profile

Pick another item in the menu to open it beside the menu.

Pages that open from the side

On a phone, filters, forms and pickers open from the bottom of the screen. On a tablet they slide in from the side, as on the web. Tap anywhere beside the page to close it.

Dashboard

On a tablet the dashboard places its panels in two columns: the session counts and agent status on the left, and the balance, the Channels panel and your dashboard widgets on the right.

The Channels panel, on phones and tablets alike, lists every connected channel with its status. Filter it by All, Active or Passive.

Sign in and sign up

The sign-in and sign-up forms sit in a centred column instead of filling the screen.

Turning the tablet

The app turns with the tablet and keeps the screen you have open.

Hardware keyboard

With a hardware keyboard connected, the chat input works as it does on the web:

KeyWhat it does
EnterSends the message
Shift + EnterStarts a new line

While the / menu of short messages and bots is open, Enter starts a new line. With the on-screen keyboard, the Enter key always starts a new line.
