Get Started Panel and Tour
Every new MonoChat workspace opens on the Get started panel. It lists the few things that make the workspace useful, checks for itself whether each one is done, and keeps track of how far you are. Next to it, a short tour shows each new person where things are in the navigation bar.
Where to find it
- A new workspace lands on Get started right after you create it.
- While something is left to do, Get started stays in the navigation bar with the number of open steps next to it, for example Get started (3), and a notification dot.
- When every step is done the panel says You are set up and the tab disappears on its own.
The header shows your progress (for example 2 of 4 done). Only finished steps count; a step you put aside does not.
The steps
Do them in any order. The first open step is marked as the next one and gets the only primary button on the screen; the others stay available.
| Step | What it does | Done when |
|---|---|---|
| Connect a channel | Connect opens the channel list (WhatsApp, Instagram, Telegram, a website widget and the rest). | The workspace has at least one channel you connected. The built-in MonoChat support conversation does not count. |
| Add an app | Open the store opens Settings › MonoStore. When MonoChat suggests an app for new workspaces, the row shows that app's own name and description with an Install button instead. | An app is installed. If an app is suggested, only installing that app finishes the step. |
| Invite your team | Invite opens the invitation form. | The workspace has more than one user. |
| Check your plan | Shows your current plan with users and messages used, for example Currently on Free · 1/1 users · 120/1000 messages. See plans opens the subscription plans. I have a coupon code opens the coupon form. | The workspace is on a plan other than the default free plan. |
Each person only sees the steps they are allowed to perform. Someone who cannot invite users, for example, does not see Invite your team. Workspaces billed through Microsoft Marketplace do not get the plan step.
Not now and Hide this
- Not now puts a step aside. It moves down the list, gets a Skipped label and no longer counts as open, but you can still do it from the panel.
- Hide this (top right) closes the panel for the whole workspace and takes you to the dashboard. MonoChat no longer opens the panel for you automatically.
Finished steps sink to the bottom, so the list visibly gets shorter as you go.
Installing the suggested app
When the Add an app row names an app:
- Click Install on the row. A preview opens with the app's picture, name and description.
- Click Install in the preview.
- The app's tab appears in the navigation bar straight away, and any setup steps the app brings are added to the top of the panel.
Apps that answer customers (bot flows) are installed switched off, so an assistant with nothing to say never meets your customers. Finish the app's own setup steps, then turn it on. See MonoStore.
Steps that come from apps
An installed app can add its own setup step to the panel, for example a short form to fill in or a switch to turn the assistant on. These steps:
- appear at the top of the list, above the platform's own steps,
- show the app's form or controls directly inside the row,
- are marked as done by the app itself once you have completed what it needs,
- can be put aside with Not now like any other step.
When you remove the app, its steps leave the panel with it.
The navbar tour
The first time you open a workspace, MonoChat dims the page and walks you through the navigation bar, one bubble at a time:
- Your dashboard: what came in, who is online, what your balance is.
- Conversations: every conversation from every channel, which can be assigned to someone.
- Contacts: everyone who has written to you.
- Reports: how much came in, how quickly it was answered, who handled what.
- Settings: channels, your team, apps and billing.
- Any installed app tab that describes itself, in the order the tabs sit in the bar.
- Your account: your own settings, language and password.
Each bubble shows its position (for example 3 / 7). Next moves on, Done on the last bubble ends the tour, and Skip ends it at any point. Clicking elsewhere does not close it.
The tour runs once per person per workspace, so someone who joins a workspace that is already set up is still shown around. If a drawer is open (for example the phone number prompt), the tour waits until it is closed.
To see it again, open Get started and click Show me around at the top of the panel.
