Coupons

A coupon code adds free credit to your workspace's balance. The credit is ordinary balance: spend it on messages, users, channels, plans and anything else you are billed for.

Redeem a coupon

You can redeem a coupon from two places:

• Settings › Billing › Overview, in the Coupons section: click Use Coupon.
• The Get started panel: on the Check your plan step, click I have a coupon code. See Get Started Panel.

Then:

1. Paste or type the Coupon Code. The dashes are added for you.
2. Click Use Coupon.
3. A confirmation shows how much was added, for example Coupon applied. 50.00 USD has been added to your balance.

The Coupons section also shows Used Coupons: how many coupons the workspace has redeemed. Click Show to see them.

You need billing permissions in the workspace to redeem a coupon. If you do not see the coupon button, ask a workspace admin.

Good to know

• Each coupon can be used once, by a single workspace.
• A coupon is credited in its own currency.
• A coupon can have an expiry date.
• Redeeming a coupon issued by a MonoChat partner may place your workspace under that partner.

Who can use a coupon

Some coupons are meant for a particular group of customers. A coupon can carry one or more of these conditions, and MonoChat checks them when you redeem it:

Condition	Meaning
New workspaces only	The workspace must have been created within a set number of days.
Minimum deposit	The workspace must have deposited at least a set amount within a set number of months. Only real top-ups count (card or bank payments) in the coupon's currency. Free credit, earlier coupons, adjustments and transfers do not count, and deposits in other currencies are not converted.
No other coupon recently	The workspace must not have used another coupon within a set number of days.

A coupon without conditions can be used by any workspace that has the code.

Error messages

Message	What it means
Coupon not found.	The code is wrong. Check for typos.
This coupon has already been used.	Someone has already redeemed this code.
This coupon is not active. / This coupon has expired.	The coupon can no longer be used.
This coupon is only for tenants opened in the last N days.	It is a new-workspace coupon and your workspace is older.
This coupon needs at least X deposited in the last N months. Your deposits in that period come to Y.	Deposit at least the difference and try again.
This coupon cannot be used by a tenant that used another coupon in the last N days.	Wait until the period has passed.

When a condition is not met, the coupon is not used up: you can try again once you qualify.
