Version 3.8.27

πŸ”” Changelog

πŸš€ v3.8.27

πŸ“… October 10, 2026

Features

  • AI agent definitions are now called AI Harnesses (Settings β€Ί Automation β€Ί AI Harnesses). A harness defines which engine runs the agent and, where needed, its own credentials. Available harnesses include MonoChat Native, the OpenAI Agents SDK, the Claude Agent SDK, pi and your own endpoint.
  • Models, instructions and the execution budget are now chosen per call on the AI Agent node: a main model, a fallback model used after the soft limit, and a fast model for light background tasks. The execution budget is now required.
  • AI agents can now run on hosted harnesses: the OpenAI Agents API and Claude Managed Agents. They run in the provider's cloud with the harness's own API key, while MonoChat still provides your custom functions, MCP tools and knowledge base search as tools, sends intermediate messages and enforces the budget.

Enhancements

  • Cancelling an AI agent run now stops it at its next model call.
  • If you set up AI agents with version 3.8.26, open your AI Agent nodes to select an AI Harness and set the models and budget there.
